Deana Taheri is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, producer, and actor whose work blends psychological horror, dark comedy, and emotionally grounded storytelling.

 

Her short film "Bill"—which she wrote, produced, and starred in—earned multiple awards on the international festival circuit, including Best Horror at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts LA, and was featured in Variety as a standout of FilmQuest 2025. Her directorial debut, "A Boy Like Me", is slated to premiere this January at Dances With Films NY.

 

As a voice artist, Deana has narrated several New York Times bestsellers for Audible and other major audiobook platforms. She also works closely with Space Fish Productions, producing a substantial slate of their music video content.

 

In addition to her screen work, Deana is currently developing an original absurdist comedy play exploring press censorship, titled "The Strange Disappearance of Cat Braun and Minnie Roy".

 

She holds a BFA from NYU Tisch, and an MFA from The New School.
